This European Standard establishes a system for the qualification and certification of personnel who perform industrial non destructive testing.The term 'industrial' implies the exclusion of applicahons in the'field of medicine. When certification of NDT personnel is defined in product standards, regulations, codes or specifications, it is recommended to certify the personnel in accordance with this EN 473.

本標準規定了承擔武器裝備科研生產任務的理化檢測人員的資格鑒定與認證的原則和方法，以及對人員培訓、實踐經歷和資格鑒定考試的最低要求。 本標準適用于認證機構對從事下列理化檢測專業領域的人員進行資格鑒定與認證，其認證的專業見附錄A： a) 分析化學； b) 含能材料檢測； c) 流體力學性能測試； d) 金相檢測分析； e) 材料力學性能測試； f) 非金屬材料檢測； g) 熱性能測試； h) 經認證機構確認的其他理化檢測專業。 對承擔國防科技工業主導民用產品科研生產任務的理化檢測人員進行資格鑒定與認證，也可參照使用。
